Because of the high voltage, high current and limited space in the new energy vehicle, the charging post cable is exposed outdoors for a long time, and the performance of the cable material is very strict due to the special environment.High-voltage cables for new energy automobiles should have high and low temperature resistance, oil and water resistance, flame retardant, tear resistance, insulation, anti-UV aging and other properties.Common materials are TPE, TPU, XLPO, neoprene, silicone rubber, etc.
1. TPE
TPE thermoplastic elastomer, also known as thermoplastic rubber TPR.The categories of TPE are: Styrene, olefins, dienes, esters, amides, organic fluorine, organosilicon and ethylene, etc. Currently most of them refer to elastomers based on SEBS.TPE material is used for charging gun cables.
Advantages: Simple processing, low density, moderate price, very soft overall cable, to meet the existing standards.
Operating temperature: Cold-resistant - 50 degrees; Within 120 degrees.
2. TPU
TPU, or thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, is divided into polyester and polyether molecular structure. It is composed of rigid block and flexible chain segments. Injection molding accounts for more than 40% of the processing process, and extrusion molding accounts for about 35%. Spring stretching length can reach 2-6 times of the original spring length.
The polyurethane sheath material for charging post cable is made of TPU tree ester as the main material, mixed, plasticized and granulated with environmental or halogen-free flame retardant, antioxidant and other additives. It has the characteristics of flexibility, crushing resistance, high temperature pressure resistance, aging resistance, acid and alkali resistance, salt mist resistance and water resistance.
Advantages: With excellent high tension, high tension, toughness and aging resistance, environmentally friendly materials.
Operating temperature: Cold-resistant - 40 degrees; Within 150 degrees.
3. Polyvinyl Chloride Elastomer
PVC polyvinyl chloride cable, based on polyvinyl chloride, can be adjusted by adding different amount of plasticizer to reduce its "vitrification" temperature, which has good softness and can increase plasticity, making it easy to process and shape.After crosslinking, the chains form a mesh structure, and the elastic stretching length can be 2-4 times as long as the original spring.
Advantages: Flame retardant and insulation, acid resistant, oil resistant, easy to process and modify, low cost.
Operating temperature: Cold-resistant - 40 degrees; Within 105 degrees (according to customer requirements).
4. Silicone Rubber
AGR silicone rubber cable made of silicone material has good elasticity, suitable temperature range is -60 C - 200 C Voltage: 300/500V conductor material: The process principle is similar to rubber, and it is processed by mixing, high pressure moulding and other processes.
Advantages: heat resistance, cold resistance and weather resistance, waterproof, good softness, easy installation.
Operating temperature: Cold-resistant - 40 degrees; Within 200 degrees.
5. XLPE
XLPE crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) is a physical or chemical method to change the molecular structure of XLPE insulation materials from linear to network-like linear.PE is the base resin and silane is the bridge material.
Advantages: high cross-linking, good flexibility, good insulation, lightweight structure, easy installation, low cost.
Operating temperature: Cold-resistant - 50 degrees; Within 100 degrees.
