Huizhou Eleteck Cable Co., Ltd. mainly produces EV cables (high voltage cables, low voltage cables and charging stake cables), equipment control cables, internal connection cables of electronic applia
With the continuous development of society, the requirements for cables are also increasing, and the classification of cables is more detailed, such as fire-resistant, flame-retardant, halogen-free electronic cables also appear in our daily life, so how to distinguish these cables?Let's talk about how to identify low-smoke halogen-free cables.
It can be distinguished by the following:
1. Epidermal burning method for identifying halogen-free electronic wires. If you iron the insulation layer with an electric cautery, there should be no obvious depressions. If there are large depressions, it indicates that the materials or processes used in the insulation layer are defective.Or you can use a lighter to grill. Normally, it is not easy to ignite. After a long time of burning, the insulation layer of the cable is relatively complete, there is no smoke or irritating smell, and the diameter increases. If ignition is easy, it can be determined that the insulation layer of the cable is not made of low smoke halogen-free materials (most likely polyethylene or cross-linked polyethylene). If there is heavy smoke, the insulation layer is made of halogen-containing materials. If the insulation surface falls off severely and the diameter does not increase significantly after a long time of burning, it means that no suitable irradiation crosslinking process has been applied.
2. The hot water immersion method for identifying halogen-free electronic wires. If the core or cable is immersed in hot water at 90 C, the insulation resistance will not decrease rapidly and remain above 0.1M/Km under normal conditions. If the insulation resistance drops rapidly even below 0.009M/Km, it means that no suitable irradiation crosslinking process has been applied.
3. Density comparison method for identifying low-smoke halogen-free electronic wires.Low-smoke halogen-free materials have a higher density than water and can be stripped off a few insulation layers and put into the water. If they float above the water, they are definitely not low-smoke halogen-free electronic wires.
